SMVF

Over the past year, our team has reached more than 660 Service Members, Veterans, and their Families (SMVF) across Virginia through harm reduction and community engagement efforts. What began as a plan to serve 500 individuals grew into a broader impact, as word spread and partnerships strengthened. At outreach events, resource fairs, and community gatherings, we distributed harm reduction kits — including naloxone, fentanyl test strips, and educational materials — alongside wellness resources and referrals for ongoing support.

Each event created space for connection and conversation, helping SMVF individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to take steps toward safety and wellness. The success of this initiative demonstrates not only the continued need for harm reduction resources in the SMVF community, but also the power of consistent presence and compassionate outreach.
